Duration: Audience controlled,drop in.
Process: Similar to the first Low Groom, this was a one-at-a-time experience where a spruker gave partipants gloves to wear before entering the room. The perfomer sat back towards the audience, facing the bass amp, which was emitting a low hum during the performance.

Location: Spectrum Project Space, Perth, Western Australia, as part of the ongoing SOUND SPECTRUM SERIES, at the Spectrum Project Space in Perth Western Australia.
Duration: 6 minutes
Process: This sound scape was created by subjecting a found sound recording of air conditioner in Singapore to a series of low fequency treatments.

The Low Groom - 1

The first low groom performance took place as part of the PSYCHIC SURGERY event at the Artrage breadbox Gallery.

Participants: Cat Hope, Kat Papas
Media: live projection, liver, headphones, live voice and pre prepared sounds
Environment: booth
Duration: Audience controlled,drop in.
Process: Cat Hope layback facing the ‘participant’ at the end of a long, thin room. A camera sends images a metal container containing a large liver which has slits cut into it. Participants are brought into the room by the hwker (Papas) and are given a set of disposable gloves, and a set of headphones to wear. they manipulate the liver according to instructions sent by Hope via a live mircophone feed. The participant watches thier interaction with the liver on Hope’s back and listen to a sound track of her instructions laced with a low frequency hum.
